Human Resources Recruiter

The Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of strategic local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. This position will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent.  This position must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.  The Recruiter uses independent judgment and reports to and receives direction from the Vice President of Human Resources.

Essential Duties | What You’ll Do – The Fun Stuff

  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Human Resources and hiring managers to develop and execute strategic recruiting plans.
  • Updates position descriptions in collaboration with managers to ensure recruiting aligns with current position requirements.
  • Creates strategic interviewing plan and collateral for each open position.  Customizes interview questions for each open position.
  • Researches and makes compensation recommendations.
  • Stays current with labor market, recruiting, compensation and benefit trends.
  • Manages recruiting process from application prescreen to hire in accordance with company standards to efficiently and effectively fill open positions.
    • Reviews applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
    • Conducts prescreening telephone calls, phone interviews and first level in-person interviews.
    • Coordinates interviews throughout organization with designated parties.
    • Makes effective hiring recommendations; validates recommendations.
    • Conducts reference and background checks for potential employees.
    • Prepares and issues offer packages.
    • Manages candidate negotiations in collaboration with the Vice President of Human Resources.
    • Communicates with candidates throughout selection process.
  • Conducts regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Develops a pool and pipeline of qualified candidates in advance of need.
  • Researches and recommends new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting. Builds networks within the company, inside and outside the industry to find qualified active and passive candidates.
  • Researches, coordinates and implements college recruiting initiatives by attending career fairs and developing relationships with colleges and universities.
  • Posts openings in appropriate company and online platforms, including social networks.
  • Maintains all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).  Compiles, organizes and completes all administrative recordkeeping for recruiting.
  • Conducts regular research and makes recommendations to remain current with recruitment best practices, market trends and employment pool fluctuations.
  • Collects hiring metrics, data on cost-per-hire, time to hire, the impact of a continuous improvement process on cost savings, and the improvement of work processes in the time taken or steps involved.
  • Creates and distributes monthly reports to management regarding HR metrics as needed.
  • Prepares various research and/or special projects as needed.
  • May provide support in other functional areas of Human Resources as needed to support the team.

Qualifications | What You Need to Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years previous recruiting experience recruiting for all levels of an organization desired.
  • Proven candidate sourcing, networking, and pipeline building skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish required.
  • Strategic and creative thinker able to transfer ideas into viable sourcing plans.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and Excel; minimum of 50 wpm.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skills in database management and record keeping. Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.  Strong knowledge of EEO laws.
  • Self-motivated.
